Key Duties and Responsibilities (What You Will Do)
As an Internal Audit Trainee at Lanka Milk Foods Group, your everyday responsibilities will involve comprehensive learning and tactical execution across the organization’s audit framework:
* Execute and support internal audit assignments aligned strictly with the company's master annual audit plan.
* Assist senior auditors with routine audit processes, inventory checks, operational reviews, and varied internal control evaluations.
* Apply theoretical accounting and financial audit principles directly within a complex, live commercial business environment.
* Identify operational gaps, inefficient procedures, or control failures, contributing practical ideas toward continuous enterprise process improvements.
* Draft precise audit documentation, clear management reports, and analytical summaries detailing key findings for executive review.
* Participate in specialized field audits across regional facilities, manufacturing units, and dairy farm sites as required by management.
Requirements and Qualifications (Who We Are Looking For)
To qualify for the Internal Audit Trainee role at Lanka Milk Foods, candidates should meet the following educational, technical, and practical criteria:
* Professional Education: Part-qualified status in recognized professional accounting bodies such as CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT Sri Lanka. (Note: Practical training requirements for these professional institutes can be formally fulfilled through this traineeship program).
* Technical Competencies: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), data analytics techniques, modern AI productivity tools, and fundamental corporate accounting software.
* Experience: Having a minimum of 1 year of hands-on audit experience within a recognized audit firm is considered a strong added advantage, though dynamic fresh candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
* Core Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical capabilities, sharp attention to numerical accuracy, dynamic presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
