Key Responsibilities & Job Duties

* Budgeting and Financial Planning: Assist senior management with annual budgeting processes, comprehensive financial planning, cash flow forecasting, and continuous budget monitoring throughout the fiscal year.

* Financial Reporting & Closure: Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, assist with month-end and year-end financial closing procedures, and contribute directly to the compilation of the organizational Annual Report.

* Audit Coordination: Draft annual financial statements and coordinate effectively with both external auditors and internal audit teams to ensure smooth audit cycles and full regulatory compliance.

* Operational Finance Management: Oversee key ledger functions including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), petty cash, bank reconciliations, and general treasury/cash flow monitoring.

* Taxation & Compliance: Ensure the timely computation, preparation, and submission of statutory payments, tax filings, and statutory returns in alignment with Sri Lankan tax laws and regulatory guidelines.

* Internal Controls & Policy Implementation: Maintain clear financial records, enforce robust internal control systems, and support the continuous development and implementation of internal accounting policies and audit recommendations.

* Leadership & Guidance: Provide hands-on guidance to junior accounting staff, oversee operational administrative duties as assigned, and maintain seamless administrative operations across the department.

Requirements and Qualifications

* Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a closely related field from a recognized university.

* Professional Qualifications: Fully qualified in AAT Sri Lanka, or part/fully qualified in CA Sri Lanka, CIMA (UK), ACCA (UK), or an equivalent recognized professional accounting credential. Active AAT membership is considered a distinct advantage.

* Work Experience: A minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive finance and accounting experience. This must include at least 2 to 3 years of demonstrated experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity.

* Technical Proficiency: Strong practical knowledge of Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS), corporate taxation, financial reporting standards, internal audit protocols, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) accounting systems, and MS Office applications (specifically advanced Excel).

* Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, organizational, report-writing, and communication skills. Must demonstrate the capability to manage multiple priorities independently under strict deadlines.
