Responsibilities and Duties
* Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date accounting records and systematically process daily financial transactions across all company books.
* Accurately prepare customer invoices, process outgoing payments, and conduct routine bank reconciliations to ensure complete alignment across accounts.
* Actively assist senior management with month-end financial closing activities, preparing draft statements, schedule updates, and operational reports.
* Oversee and manage the complete workflow for accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), maintaining strong oversight of cash flows.
* Ensure strict compliance with corporate administrative policies, internal financial controls, and statutory legal reporting requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants should meet the following professional criteria:
* Educational & Professional Background: Part-qualification in recognized professional accounting bodies such as AAT, CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, or ACCA; OR a recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Mandatory Work Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven accounting experience working within an apparel manufacturing enterprise is strictly required.
* Technical Competencies: Strong core knowledge of general accounting principles, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and hands-on operational knowledge of modern accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
* Specialized Industry Skills: Practical familiarity with manufacturing cost accounting concepts, cost allocation, inventory valuation, and related stock transactions is considered a distinct advantage.
* Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
