In this vital career role, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and executing risk-based internal audits across various operational and financial departments. The primary objective of the position is to assess the adequacy and strength of internal controls, ensure strict regulatory compliance, enhance operational effectiveness, and deliver actionable insights. Requirements and qualifications
To qualify for the Manager or Assistant Manager – Internal Audit vacancy at HUTCH Sri Lanka, candidates should satisfy the following criteria:
1. Professional Qualifications:
- Full professional qualification or part qualification in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Information Technology, Information Systems, ERP, SAP, or related corporate disciplines (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA, CISA, or equivalent).
2. Work Experience:
- Candidates possessing 4 to 5 years of proven professional experience within one of the Big Four audit firms or within the telecommunications industry will hold a strong added advantage.
- Hands-on experience in strategic audit planning, end-to-end execution, enterprise risk assessment, process optimization, and compliance reviews.
- Proven managerial experience in leading complex audit engagements, preparing clear Internal Audit (IA) reports, driving recommendation implementations, and conducting high-level stakeholder interactions.
3. Industry-Specific Knowledge & Technical Exposure:
- Prior exposure to telecommunication infrastructure audits, physical asset verification, Fixed Asset Register (FAR) reconciliation, and Capital Work-in-Progress (CWIP) accounts reconciliation will be a major added advantage.
- Practical experience in working with established Internal Control and Compliance Frameworks such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), COSO, or other recognized risk frameworks, ideally in a telecom environment.
4. Soft Skills & Flexibility:
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills suitable for executive leadership review.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel outside Colombo to various regional sites for audit assignments as needed.
