About the job
Bank of Ceylon (BOC), the undisputed largest banking institution in Sri Lanka, has officially declared open applications for the post of Trainee Development Assistant. Operating with a massive national and international presence, Bank of Ceylon maintains an extensive, islandwide branch network along with operations in strategic overseas locations, including a fully functioning banking subsidiary in London. BOC proudly stands as the only Sri Lankan bank ranked among the Top 500 banking brands in the world and continues to solidify its legacy as the No. 01 Banking Brand in Sri Lanka. Under its latest recruitment drive, the bank is actively seeking dynamic, highly motivated, and suitably qualified individuals to fill critical provincial vacancies and contribute directly to rural development and economic empowerment.
Stepping into the role of a Trainee Development Assistant at Bank of Ceylon positions you at the heart of the country's development banking sector. This specialized vacancy is distinct from standard retail banking roles, as it is strictly available across specific regional territories: the Central, Eastern, Northern, North Central, North Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva Provinces. As a Trainee Development Assistant, you will act as a vital catalyst for grass-roots economic progress, microfinance expansion, and agricultural sustainability. Your daily environment will involve bridging the gap between state-backed financial resources and the rural sectors that form the economic foundation of Sri Lanka.
Working with Bank of Ceylon offers an unmatched corporate platform that provides immense stability, professional prestige, and comprehensive career development. In this role, you will not be confined to standard desk tasks; instead, you will spend time engaging directly with agricultural communities, local entrepreneurs, and rural households. You will be responsible for driving microfinance product promotion, identifying credit requirements, managing loan evaluations, and building close, trust-based relationships with clients. If you possess a background in agriculture, a strong drive for community service, and the determination to build a lasting banking career within a premier state institution, this recruitment drive offers an exceptional professional path.
