About Disaster Management Centre
Disaster management center is the leading government institution responsible for disaster management in Sri Lanka. DMC was established under the country (Sri Lanka) Disaster management Act no. 13of 2005 as the exciting agency of the national council for disaster management in Sri Lanka.
The management center is responsible for providing and coordinating disaster risk reduction programmers and training at both national and sub national level with support to peoples safety. The center main functions are research and development about people’s safety, preparedness planning, and early warning about disaster country peoples, Emergency response coordination to community or groups. DMC have been dividing district, division and Grama niladhari levels in the country.
