Key Responsibilities

- Process monthly payroll with high accuracy and strictly within designated timeframes.

- Prepare, calculate, and maintain comprehensive records for base salaries, allowances, overtime payments, performance incentives, statutory deductions, loans, and salary advances.

- Coordinate directly with the Human Resources department to verify staff attendance, overtime hours, and leave balances.

- Ensure exact compliance regarding statutory and mandatory deductions and employee/employer contributions.

- Prepare accurate bank payment files to facilitate smooth and timely salary disbursement.

- Continuously maintain and update confidential employee salary files and personal financial records.

- Prepare detailed payroll journals and ensure precise posting to the General Ledger.

- Reconcile payroll control accounts alongside bank payment settlements.

- Compile and submit insightful payroll summaries and reports for management decision-making.

- Enforce strict adherence to internal company controls, operational policies, and national statutory mandates.

- Support internal and external financial audits and complete any ad-hoc financial tasks requested by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Part qualification in CIMA, ACCA, CA Sri Lanka, or an equivalent, recognized accounting qualification.

- 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar financial role, ideally in payroll management within a hospital or healthcare setting.

- Deep knowledge of general accounting principles, payroll framework management, and statutory payroll deductions.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and specialized accounting software applications.

- Strong analytical, structural, and interpersonal communication capabilities.

- Proven capability to manage workload stress, adhere strictly to deadlines, and pay exceptional attention to details.
