Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this professional accounting post, candidates must meet the following formal criteria, technical competencies, and professional background standards:
1. Professional Qualifications:
- Candidates must hold a professional accounting qualification or be at finalist status in recognized bodies such as ICASL, ACCA, CIMA, CMA, or hold an equivalent professional finance degree.
2. Relevant Work Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of proven work experience in finance, accounting, taxation, and costing within a commercial organization or corporate environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with general ledger functions, journal entries, account reconciliations, and complex month-end or year-end financial closing workflows.
3. Software & Technical Skills:
- High proficiency in accounting software. Prior experience using Xero accounting software will be considered a distinct and strong advantage.
- Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, formulas, reporting models, and financial analysis).
- Solid knowledge of UK accounting standards, statutory compliance requirements, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Analytical & Operational Skills:
- Proven experience in processing payroll, managing credit control processes to maintain optimal organizational cash flows, and conducting bank reconciliations.
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports, operating budgets, and dynamic management forecasts.
- Excellent analytical capability, organizational aptitude, and systematic problem-solving skills.
5. Communication & Working Hours:
- Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills to effectively liaise with internal departments and key external stakeholders, including auditors and HMRC (His Majesty's Revenue and Customs).
- Full willingness to work aligned with UK business hours and observe UK public holidays to ensure seamless day-to-day coordination.
